Daniamant ODEO SOS eVDS USCG APPROVED
Introducing Daniamant ODEO
SOS Electronic Visual Distress Signal (eVDS) USCG Approved
Daniamant and Datrex would like to introduce the new ODEO SOS to its range of electronic visual distress signals (eVDS). The ODEO SOS is certified to meet US Coast Guard requirements which means it can be used (with provided distress flag) on recreational vessels within US waters. The ODEO SOS is a high intensity strobe light providing an internationally recognized “SOS” (… — …) morse code signal.
US vessels up to 65’ feet in length within US waters (12 miles) or a passage to the sea of at least 2 miles wide or the Great Lakes, that have the ODEO SOS onboard can use it as a replacement for pyrotechnic flares. For vessels under sixteen feet in length the distress flag is not obligatory and the ODEO SOS still stands as a vital nighttime visual distress signal.
